بازخوانی پیوستار رذایل اخلاقی و اختلالات روانی از منظر ابوزید بلخی

چکیده

از برجسته‌ترین متفکران اسلامی در زمینۀ اختلالات روانی بر اساس رذایل اخلاقی، ابوزید احمد بن سهل بلخی (۲۳۵–۳۲۲ق) است که در اثر مهم مصالح الأبدان و الأنفس برای نخستین بار به‌طور نظام‌مند، میان بیماری‌های جسمی و روانی تفکیک قائل شد و حالات نفسانی مانند حزن، خوف، غضب، وسواس، اضطراب و افسردگی را ذیل مفاهیم «حالت»[1] و «اختلالات روانی»[2] طبقه‌بندی کرد. پرسش اصلی پژوهش حاضر آن است که بلخی چگونه رذایل اخلاقی را به‌مثابۀ کاستی‌های روانی تحلیل کرده و چه راهبردهایی برای پیشگیری و درمان آنها ارائه داده است. بدین منظور متن مصالح الأبدان و الأنفس با روش تحلیل مضمون، بررسی، و ۳۱۲ واحد معنایی استخراج شد که در فرایند کدگذاری به ۱۶۸ کد باز و 30 مضمون فرعی و 11 مضمون اصلی تقلیل یافت. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که بلخی با ترسیم پیوستار حالات روانی تا اختلالات روانی، عوامل روانی - تحولی، اجتماعی - محیطی و جسمانی این حالات را توضیح داده، آثار جسمی و روانی هریک را برشمرده و دو سطح «راهبردهای بیرونی» (مانند تغییر محیط، معاشرت و فعالیت بدنی) و «راهبردهای درونی» (مانند تلقین امید، برهان عقلی و تمرین صبر) را پیشنهاد کرده است. نتیجۀ پژوهش آن است که بلخی سلامت روانی را در چارچوبی یکپارچه و فضیلت‌محور تعریف کرده است و الگوی او می‌تواند پلی میان علم اخلاق و روان‌شناسی معاصر برای بازاندیشی در درمان اختلالات روانی فراهم آورد.

Abū Zayd Aḥmad ibn Sahl al-Balkhī (235–322 AH) is one of the most prominent Islamic thinkers regarding mental disorders based on moral vices. In his significant work Maṣāliḥ al-Abdān wa-l-Anfus (The Interests of Bodies and Souls), he was the first to systematically distinguish between physical and mental illnesses. He classified psychic states such as grief, fear, anger, obsession, anxiety, and depression under the concepts of "States"[1] and "Mental Disorders."[2] The main question of the present research is how al-Balkhī analyzed moral vices as psychological deficiencies and what strategies he proposed for their prevention and treatment. To this end, the text of Maṣāliḥ al-Abdān wa-l-Anfus was examined using the thematic analysis method, and 312 semantic units were extracted. During the coding process, these were reduced to 168 open codes, 30 sub-themes, and 11 main themes. The findings indicate that by delineating a continuum from psychic states to mental disorders, al-Balkhī explained the psycho-developmental, socio-environmental, and physical factors of these states, enumerated the physical and psychological effects of each, and suggested two levels of strategies: "External Strategies" (such as changing the environment, socializing, and physical activity) and "Internal Strategies" (such as suggesting hope, rational argument, and practicing patience). The conclusion of the research is that al-Balkhī defined mental health within an integrated and virtue-oriented framework, and his model can provide a bridge between moral science and contemporary psychology for rethinking the treatment of mental disorders.
